Organisation and Governance
Spain is a founding member of MIRRI-ERIC and together with Portugal, shares the MIRRI ERIC Central Coordinating Unit. Spain hosts the Collaborative Working Environment (CWE) Hub at University of Valencia, which serves as a key platform for facilitating cooperation and data integration across the MIRRI-ERIC network. The MIRRI-ES node was formally created in May 2021 through an Agreement between the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (MICIN), the University of Valencia, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the LifeWatch ERIC Common Facility in Spain. This Agreement identifies the roles and responsibilities of the entities participating in MIRRI-ERIC and appoints the University of Valencia as the Node Coordinator. In addition, it also establishes a follow-up committee integrated by two representatives from each entity. Since then, some Spanish institutions expressed their interest to join MIRRI-ERIC, reason why the partners elaborated and approved the “Procedure for the Admission of New Partners to MIRRI-ES“, based on the MIRRI-ERIC Rules of Operation that was being drafted in the frame of the IS_MIRRI21 project. Currently, three new partners have been accepted to join MIRRI-ES and the Addenda to include them in the Agreement is in the process of signature. Besides, an additional partner has expressed its formal interest to join MIRRI-ES and this candidacy needs to be formally approved by the current partners of the Node
Participation in MIRRI-ERIC governance bodies:
- National Coordinators Forum: Rosa Aznar (CECT) serves as the National Node Coordinator, with Ana Alastruey (ISCIII) and María del Carmen Montero (IFAPA) as additional representatives.
- Assembly of Members: The Spanish representation in the Assembly of Members is composed of Aurora Zuzuarregui (CECT), Antera Martel (BEA), and the designated representative from MICIN.
